Family Mass - Opportunities to be involved and Activities 2023 - 2024

We hope to resume our Family Mass activities again this September 2023.  St. Rose of Lima celebrates its Family Mass each Sunday.  The Family Mass Committee aims to provide our Family Mass with an environment where faith can be shared, developed, and renewed for all family members.  Through our efforts, we hope to develop a true sense of community here in our parish.

Ways to Participate – An important part of attending Mass on a weekly basis is your active participation.  If children are interested in exploring different ways that they can participate in the Mass, please consider these roles available at the St. Rose of Lima Family Mass:
*  Petition Reader – Younger school aged children are able to read petitions as part of the Prayer of the Faithful.  Please see one of the Family Liturgy members handing out the Song Sheets before Mass for more information.

*  Song Sheet Distributer and Greeter – Younger school aged children who arrive for Mass early can join us welcoming parishioners to Mass and handing out the day’s Song Sheet.
*  Music – Join the FAMILY LITURGY YOUTH CHORALE (Grades 4 – 8 & High School Choir Leaders) or the YOUTH BELL CHOIR (Middle – High School) or JUNIOR BELL CHOIR (Elementary - Middle School) – For more information, feel free to visit in the choir loft or reach out to John Buckel, Director of Music & Organist (516-798-4992 x240, JohnB@SROLchurch.org).

Here is a list of activities centered around the Family Mass.  Look for details in the parish bulletin as each event approaches and “Like” us on Facebook to receive periodic updates (search for St. Rose Family Mass to find our Facebook page).  At all Family Liturgy Hospitalities, we will have a share table so families can bring a baked item or a snack treat to share with their fellow parishioners.

Want to Get Involved?  If you have any questions about or would like to become involved with the Family Liturgy Committee, call or e-mail Matt and Kelly Baroletti (516-798-6026, mbaroletti@verizon.net).

We are looking for additional parishioners to help us our efforts in Family Liturgy.  You don't need any special experience to become a member of our committee.  You just have to have a desire to grow in your faith, a willingness to give a little of your time and talents, and the spirit to work with others.  To find out more about Family Liturgy, you can speak with any of our members each Sunday at the Family.

Becoming a member of Family Liturgy does not come with a weekly commitment.  The Committee is divided into teams, and each team is assigned a few Sundays throughout the year.  Periodic meetings are held to develop and share our plans within the committee.

We need your support!  Knowing that busy people always have time to help out and that many hands make light work, we ask you to consider joining our ministry.
